BAPTISM AT COVENANT COMMUNITY CHURCH
The sacrament of Baptism is a joyful celebration of the people of God
At Covenant, we believe that “Baptism enacts and seals what the Word proclaims: God’s redeeming grace offered to all people.” The sacrament unites us with Jesus Christ and makes us members of God’s family in the Church.
Infants and children (age appropriate) may be baptized, or a person may choose to be baptized for the first time as an adult. Baptisms are part of the Sunday worship service receiving new Care Partners (members) into the congregation. The pastor or an ordained minister of the church places water on the person’s head and baptizes him or her, “in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.” For, infant baptism, one parent or guardian must be a Care Partner (member) of the church.
